Hidden in the forest visible in the photo are the few remains of the fortified Teutonic Castle built around 1300. It was the first Teutonic castle on Polish lands and was the seat of the southernmost commandry of the Teutonic State. After losing the Battle of Grunwald, the Teutonic Knights were forced to dismantle it in 1424 and move to other places, but that's a different story, see komoot.com/highlight/5841757?ref=whd
