The parish church of Tiers is located in St. Georgsstraße in the village center. It is divided into two parts: the lower part of the tower with its round-arch windows dates from the Romanesque period. It was built in the 14th century, more precisely in 1332. The upper part with the red tower helmet with onion dome was completed in 1739.

The late Gothic choir and the nave also date from the 18th century, but the interior was redesigned in the second half of the 19th century and is now in a neo-Romanesque style. The three beautiful ceiling paintings were painted by the artist Karl Henrici in 1772 and of course also show St. George.
St. George is venerated as the patron saint of firefighters, farmers, miners, riders and hikers, among others, and is invoked against fever and the dangers of war, as well as for livestock and good weather.
