The village of Oostvoorne, which originated near the castle of the lords of Voorne, already had two churches at its disposal, namely the chapel on the castle and the parish church in the village, which is already mentioned in the year 1105.
Before the Reformation, the parish church was dedicated to St. Lambrecht. It is not known what the former building looked like.
