The ascent via the Kolovrat ridge starts from the Solarie refuge at an altitude of 970m and first heading towards the Italian-Slovenian border, it takes the road to Livek, along one of the most panoramic and beautiful roads imaginable. The road climbs rather steeply up to the brow of the open-air museum of the Great War at about 1200 m. It should be remembered that Lieutenant Rommel operated on these roads in the days of Caporetto. From here the road follows the backbone of the Kolovrat Range with breathtaking views of the valleys below.
