Best Hikes to View of the Blackforestline Suspension Bridge

Tips

  • Pure adrenaline high above the waterfall! The 450 meter long suspension bridge over the Todtnau waterfalls in the Black Forest. In the Todtnau mountains, the perspectives expand, because the waterfall can be experienced in a new way on the BLACKFORESTLINE.
Your heart beats faster. With every step. Above you the sky, below you - freedom.
You look down at the tops of the stately Black Forest firs. You feel that tingling. First in your stomach, and then in your whole body. Nature is close enough to touch, and yet so far away. Figures, data, facts
The total weight of the bridge is 730 tons, the pylons weigh 46 tons, the height of the pylon is 16 meters, the walkway weighs 55 tons, the supporting cables weigh 15.4 tons, the wind cable measures 3 tons, the span of the bridge is 450 meters, the walkway width will be 1.20 m, the maximum load capacity is 1000 people and the diameter of the supporting cables is 76 mm.
Look forward to the new adventure in the Todtnau mountains! Please note that taking a dog with you is not prohibited, but the grating of the bridge causes many dogs difficulty crossing. We would also like to enable wheelchair users / strollers to visit flexibly every day and not just on special days or at certain times. However, wheelchair users and strollers can only be admitted at the WEST bridgehead (at the visitor center / Sommerberg side) and only during the visitor center's opening hours (up to and including October, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). The staff on site lets wheelchair users / strollers onto the bridge through a separate entrance and only lets them out again on the same side. The number of wheelchair users / strollers is limited, which can result in short waiting times. Source: hochschwarzwald.de/attraktionen/blackforestline-haengebruecke-c850e2eebc

  • It's worth going, even if you don't want to go on the bridge.
    It's really beautiful there.
    Unfortunately it's usually too crowded!
