The church in Nidau, originally dedicated to Saint Erhard von Regensburg, dates back to the 14th century. It was first mentioned in 1368 and was a branch of the parish of Bürglen (Aegerten). In 1482 it became an independent parish church. Evangelical Reformed since 1528, the church was expanded in 1678-1682. As a result of the lowering of the lake level as part of the first Jura water correction (1868-1891), the church tower began to tilt significantly. During the renovation of 1912-1914, the tower was renovated and supported, but remained in the characteristic inclination to this day.
