Güterfelde was first mentioned in a document in 1263 (as Jutergotz). The village church is a stone church from the 13th century.
The castle, built in 1804 by David Gilly, was rebuilt in Baroque style by Albrecht von Roon, who owned the estate from 1868 to 1873. Owned by the city of Berlin since the end of the 19th century, it housed a children's tuberculosis sanatorium. From 1952 to the summer of 2010, the castle was a nursing home for the elderly and was converted into residential use in the 2010s.
