Top cycling routes to Bronze Age Burial Mound with Stone Cist

Tips

  • The central burial chamber was constructed like a scaled-down version of a megalithic tomb. It was a stone box (9f) made up of 6 boulders about 1 m high and sealed with 3 large capstones. It dates from the early Bronze Age (around 2,000 BC), but the burial mound was used again about 1,000 years later for the burial of an urn during the transition to the younger Bronze Age.
