Salorges are warehouses in which the extracted salt is stored before being transported (often by sea). They are usually stone buildings with strong pillars to resist salt pressure.
From 1875, after the end of salt production, the oyster farmers of Bilhervé transformed the old salt marshes into refining basins for oysters. Today, the Salorge is private property.
