It is one of the most important in the Guadarrama mountain range (belonging to the Central system). It has an altitude of 1753 meters. The northern slope of the mountain is in the Cuelgamuros valley. A small part of the mountain to the west of the summit belongs to the province of Ávila (Castilla y León).
