The beginnings of the monastery date back to 1146 - at that time Norbertans were brought to Hebdów, who a few years later built a Romanesque church here. To this day, in the Temple of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, you can see relics of the Romanesque basilica. A major extension and reconstruction of the church and monastery were carried out in the years 1640-1727 - therefore the current buildings represent the late Baroque style (source: visitmalopolska.pl/de_DE/obiekt/-/poi/sanktuarium-matki-bozej -hebdowskiej).
