In May 1911, 27-year-old Adolf Bosch (senior) opened a pastry shop with a café and a grocery store in Uhingen, right next to the train station and post office. During his apprenticeship, he learned to make the Swabian specialty Wibele in what was then Wibele's stronghold, Schnait in the Rems Valley. After years of traveling through pastry shops in southern Germany, France and Switzerland, he became head of the praline production department at the Moser-Roth chocolate factories in Stuttgart and Frankonia and Würzburg.
