Water Tower (1931) + Town Hall – Kahl am Main 🚴‍♂️

    - The water tower is one of the landmarks of Kahl am Main, with a population of around 7,500. Built in 1931 and approximately 27 meters high, it is located directly on the main street, in the immediate vicinity of the town hall.

    - The town hall building was originally constructed in 1833 as a customs office. After losing this function, carpenter Georg Bessenbacher turned it into a pub. A lack of space led to its conversion to a schoolhouse on April 1, 1870. Bessenbacher received a premium of 4,000 guilders for this. Two classrooms, a teacher's apartment, and a chaplain's room were installed in the building. The building also received a municipal meeting room. In 1916, two additional rooms were used for municipal administration, and from May 1929, the entire ground floor was used. Since 1939, the building has served entirely as the town hall.

At first glance, the water tower looks like a castle tower. There are many water towers around here, this one is different.
