The parish church of St. Aegydius is located in the west of Untermarkersdorf.
The church building, a Josephine hall church, was built in 1786.
The tower was built in 1905. The simple exterior has pilaster strips, segmented arched windows and side entrances.
The east facade has a curved gable front, the main portal (1786) shows the coat of arms of Melk Abbey. The tower has round-arched sound windows, clock gables and an onion dome. The nave has a flat roof, the three-axis organ gallery has a square vault, the choir bay has a square vault and the presbytery has a barrel vault. Two painted angels with a palm tree and a lily can be seen in the spandrels of the triumphal arch. The painted altar structure with the fresco painted altarpiece (probably by Johann Wenzel Berg) comes from the fourth quarter.
