    Giggijochbahn, Sölden

For the 2016/17 winter season, the Sölden cable cars built a new, state-of-the-art feeder cable car to the Giggijoch. The new 10-person monocable gondola opens up a new dimension of capacity with a record transport capacity of 4,500 people/hour, but the new facility also impresses in terms of comfort.

With the new 10EUB Giggijoch (4,500 people/hour) and the 8EUB Gaislachkogl (3,600 people/hour), the Sölden ski area currently has the 2 feeder cable cars with the highest transport capacity in the world.

      GIGGIJOCH TAL (1,362 M)

The architecture is determined by the narrowness of the existing building site and the new cable car technology from Doppelmayr. The entry level was therefore raised to 13 m, allowing a building with the smallest possible footprint on the property.

The slender, tower-like, solid building core accommodates the cable car technology and is visible from afar as a landmark. The raised entry level disappears behind a perforated band with the mountain panorama of the Ötztal Alps.

Two escalators connect the covered square level with the station level, which is also directly connected to the ski slope and parking garage.
