This building used to be a guest house – “the old mennekesgesticht” – built by the Monastery Order Daughters of the Cross. It dates from 1890. It is currently used as a cultural center and meeting point. On the chapel of the monastery you will see the inscription “pensionnat des filles de la croix”.

Hiking

Former Hospital of the Holy Cross, now the City Meeting Center. Built in 1890 by the Daughters of the Holy Cross, who had bought a number of houses here; it was originally an elder's home. It consists of two parts: the broad house on the Kloosterstraat, and a detached building with chapel behind this part, on the current Vaesstraat.
