Beautiful path where you can escape the summer heat and enjoy the bird song arts

This is the old avenue (classified as heritage) to the stately parsonage and parsonage garden of Reppel. At the end (in front of the parsonage) there is a beautifully maintained Troostplek by FERM.

Various colored birdhouses hang from the trees. The art is on the edge of the street that runs parallel to the avenue to the parsonage (the Monshofstraat that, like the path from the watermill, leads to the parsonage). It concerns seven wooden statues that all have something to do with Bocholt.

      The participating artists are:

      - Yves Christiaen (from Bocholt) with a statue around GrensPark Kempen~Broek, a statue around the Landelijke Gilden, a statue about the plane crashes in Lozen.

      - Jan Laenen (from Hechtel-Eksel) with a statue around the Bokkenrijders.

      - Leo Boermans (from Pelt) with a statue around the Teuten.

      - Jan Geboers (from Lommel) with a statue around the mills of the Abeek

      - Jos Langens (from Peer) with a statue around the Sezoens (beer).

About the avenue itself: "Around 1903, a path was constructed parallel to the Monshofstraat to the entrance gate of the moated parsonage of Reppel. Lime trees were planted on either side of the unpaved avenue. The plot has a more or less triangular shape and becomes wider towards the entrance gate, so that there are three to four rows of lime trees on the street side. Although the avenue is much more recent than the parsonage, it contributes to the impressive character of this site."
