A few kilometers from the town center of Lanusei, in a splendid centuries-old wood, 1000 meters above sea level, you can visit an archaeological area consisting of a nuraghe and two giants' tombs. The restored tombs are built in local granite. The forest, rich in water springs with renowned healing properties, also offers easy paths to follow on foot or by bike, among holm oaks and chestnut trees and many species of the Mediterranean maquis, such as erica scoparia, arbutus and broom and to other protected plants. It is definitely worth a visit both for its historical interest and for the beautiful nature, as well as being an ideal shelter from the summer heat!
