The Church of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice is one of the churches that we come across in the municipal area of Lanusei, which is part of the diocese of Lanusei, a town in the beautiful Ogliastra in the eastern part of Sardinia. Located precisely in the countryside of the municipal area of Lanusei, the country church has a simple rectangular plan with a single nave built in granite and local stones. The roof is also very simple, in the shape of a hut, in Sardinian style with the presence of Sardinian tiles, wooden beams and the cane as an internal covering of the church. The facade of the small church, on the other hand, has a small wooden entrance door and a small round opening above the main entrance.
In front of the church there is a small square, frequented during the events and celebrations in honor of the Saint.
How to get to the Church of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice:
from the SS 125, take the second exit for Tortolì and keep left to take the SS 198. Then continue straight on towards Lanusei and when you reach a roundabout at the beginning of the village of IlBono, take the second exit. Continue straight on until you reach the ring road east where you will find a crossroads with a level crossing, take the road on the left and then continue along the SS 198 and enter the village of Lanusei. Arrive in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III and take Via Progresso, continue in Viale Europa and then in Via Funtana e' Padenti. After a few kilometers you will have arrived at your destination.
