The 18th century Salinas, now known as Los Cancajos, are the result of the illustrious concerns of the Presbyterian Don Miguel González Toledo (1755-1842), born in Santa Cruz de La Palma and a neighbor of Brea Baja. The main access to the salt complex and the house is made from a squat neoclassical reference in the quadrant. These salts are a unique model on the island, of Greek-German inspiration, of very regular layout and two co-cedars near the sea. In 1867, the lack of capitalization of the owner and the destruction of part of the lime mortar by the action of the sea were the reasons for the abandonment of these salt dwellings.

The directly signposted access from the main road is currently (as of February 2025) closed due to construction work. However, it is very easy to get there via adjacent streets.
