A beautiful church, located on the edge of the village. Worth watching.

The church of St. Peter Büßleben, Am Peterbach 15, is a Protestant village church in the district of Erfurter Bessleben. It is a listed building.

The church building is an octagonal central building from 1774. The church has a mighty mansard roof with rusticated corner square. In the west there is a portal with a tympanum-like attachment. The mighty tower in the east of the church is a remnant of the late medieval predecessor building. In the interior, a uniform late Baroque equipment has been preserved. These include a two-storey gallery as well as a pulpit altar dating from around 1770 with a high columnar position and intricate rocaille decoration.

Among the most valuable pieces of equipment of the church is the organ of the organ builder Georg Christoph Stertzing with its richly decorated prospect. The instrument, built in 1702, is the oldest original organ in the city of Erfurt and was originally built for the Benedictine monastery of St. Peter on the Erfurter Petersberg. It stands since 1811 in the Büßlebener church. The community Büßleben had the organ, which like other inventory items of the monastery offered by the Napoleonic occupying power for sale, for 900 talers.

In the surroundings of Erfurt, the Stertzing organ is the only surviving organ from the period around 1700, and in all of Thuringia even the oldest in size.
