Zoomed in on Porcheresse: After the armistice on November 11, 1918, the allies watch over the evacuation of the German troops. In the post-war period, Italian soldiers traverse Porcheresse. Italy has belonged to the camp of the allies since 1915 after first being allied with Germany, Austria-Hungary.

The soldiers are very warmly welcomed on their return to Porcheresse. Despite the limited financial resources, the municipal council decides to place a commemorative plaque in the old church portico.

Many residents harbor feelings of revenge against the Germans. The centennial commemoration of the an important evolution in the memory of the war. The Germans recognize for the first time the crimes committed in Luxembourg in 1914. Porcheresse is recognized as "Commune Victime de faits de Guerre 1914 - 1918" by the Ministry of Defense on September 8, 2014.
