In the western part of the city, a Romanesque hall church, still preserved in its core, was erected. In the second half of the 13th century, it was extended on the model of the Mühlhäuser basilica. After a fire, the aisles were torn down between 1550 and 1555 and shortened the west side. The ship and the southeastern tower were rebuilt on almost square ground plan with bell floor and slate helmet with lantern. This resulted in a greatly simplified form of the original building. Today, the bell tower is deserted. The church was rebuilt several times in the 18th and 20th centuries, so there are structural features from different eras: The rectangular stone ship has added arches with natural stone walls of the former basilica. The round-arched windows date back to the 13th century. On the nave and choir, on the other hand, there are gothic arched windows. The interior decoration also includes works from various centuries: the altar, decorated with tendrils, shows a picture of the Last Supper from 1670. The carvings date back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The organ was made in the core in 1680. The carved and colored pulpit with sound cover was made at the beginning of the 17th century. In addition, a late expressionist spatial version has been preserved. St. Servator has both urban planning and local historical significance. The German Foundation for Monument Protection participated in the promotion of work on the ship's roof of the church. Here the roof and ceiling construction was repaired.

There is a war memorial in the churchyard to commemorate the Schlothheim victims of World War I and World War II.
