Hiking
The Valley of the Dead is an impressive gorge near Zakros in eastern Crete. It takes its name from Minoan tombs found in the rock walls. The hike (approx. 2.5 km) runs from Ano Zakros to Kato Zakros and takes 2 to 2.5 hours. The path is easily accessible and suitable for most hikers. At the end, you can visit the Minoan palace of Zakros or relax on the beach.
