This trailhead, often just called "Windy," is a very small pullout right off the highway. It's hard to spot when driving, even when you know right where it is.

However, the stretch of trail between here and the next trailhead of the Turnagain Arm Trail, Rainbow, is very pretty in a stark, rocky, and wildflower-strewn sort of way. Dall sheep sometimes congregate in the cliffs near here, too.

Running

This is the most easterly of four trailheads on the Turnagain Arm Trail. Parking here is fee, but the lot is very small, poorly marked, and easy to drive right park.

The trail west of here, toward the next trailhead (Rainbow), is quite rocky. I give it about 50-50 odds that any given runner will feel comfortable running most of that terrain. You'll need solid ankles! However, once you pass the Rainbow trailhead the trail turns to packed dirt with only sporadic rocks, and is much better for running.
