The building houses three impressive state rooms: the ceremonial hall, the white salon and the banqueting hall1. One of the most striking features of the town hall are the murals by Emile Flamant, painted between 1927 and 1931, which depict the history of the town and its famous figures1.
In addition, Martin and Martine, the two "jacquemarts" (mechanical automatons), are a unique sight. They have been striking the hours on the town hall's clock tower since 1512.
