Tips

  • Church of San Giovanni Battista, built in 1589, has three naves and a long transept, with two rows of columns connected at the top by round arches. After the fire of 1898, which destroyed the original frescoes, the church was re-frescoed by the painter Gennaro Pardo (1900-1901). Inside is the marble statue of St. John the Baptist made in 1521 by the sculptor Antonello Gagini.

  • A church of unique beauty. The body of the tower is made up of three orders in squared ashlars, the second has splayed single lancet windows, the belfry is delimited by string courses, all surmounted by a cylindrical lantern in the shape of a small temple with a small dome. The street level is connected to the walking surface of the hall by means of an elegant staircase of 13 steps. The entrance is embellished with paired columns with Corinthian capitals surmounted by a broken tympanum, with spheres on the cymatiums, intermediate niche.
