At a little over 11,600 feet, Crater Lake sits right on the edge of treeline. The Twilight Group (a trio of 13ers) makes the backdrop with the Needle Mountains in a line to the east. The trail traveling to the lake is popular, but not as many people who start towards the lake end up getting there because of the hilly trail. The good news is that it's all downhill on the way back.
