At an elevation of just over 9,800 feet, Potato Lake is a high elevation lake near the Needle Mountains. The trail approaching the lake is called Spud Lake Trail, but the lake usually takes the name Potato instead of Spud. This hike attracts a lot of visitors, but the lake is big enough to journey around and find some solitude.
