    The 'White Pass & Yukon Route Railway' (WP&YR) is a narrow gauge railway that connects the Port of Skagway, Alaska, with Whitehorse, Yukon. Construction of the railroad began in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush to reach the gold fields. The railroad operated until 1982 and was revived as a Historic Railroad in 1988 from Skagway to Carcross in British Columbia.

    The former (renovated) station building of the 'White Pass & Yukon Route Railway' still stands in Whitehorse. Most of the tracks have been dismantled, but they still run from the station along the Waterfront Trail almost to the Rotary Peace Park.
