At the beginning of July the glacier is still covered with snow and the marginal cleft is narrow. It is best to read the DAV report before the hike. I saved 0.5 kg in weight - instead of crampons, I used the lugs.

Hiking
With mountain guide Wolfgang, it was a doable and simply fantastic experience for me, too. Equipment is incredibly important (crampons, helmet, good via ferrata set), as is drinking water (I didn't have enough 😏). My greatest sporting adventure to date 🤩
