Nevlunghamn is a small fishing village and pilotage port that has retained its original
has retained character. The first inhabitants who settled here in the second half of the 17th century worked in pilotage and fishing. Over time, a characteristic settlement developed in a sheltered location below Havneberget. The place became known for its brave and skillful pilots. The sheltered location has made the harbor a popular guest harbor for sailing boats. In 1991 Nevlunghavn was selected as Vestfold's candidate for the nomination of Norway's best preserved sites by the Directorate of Cultural Heritage. This means that Nevlunghavn has also been included in UNESCO's international list of cities worthy of protection.
