The ramparts were built in the 19th century on the site of the former city fortifications. Except for the section of Engelbert-Kaempfer-Straße, it forms a car-free green ring around the old Hanseatic city. Ideal and very popular for the people of Lemgo as a jogging session.

Hiking

The ramparts are about 3 km long and run around the city. In summer, the trees provide plenty of shade. There are some nice playgrounds on the ramparts and also some restaurants on the ramparts or nearby.
