I would recommend the ascent over the gravel heaps and the descent over the Jägersteig. The gravel heaps require concentration and, in my opinion, do not allow tired muscles. And you also have a great view.
The descent over the forest is easier, although at times no less steep.
I will definitely visit the Gßeck again, as the summit cross often disappeared in the fog and I could not enjoy the view.

The ascent over the Jägersteig, take the left path at the first junction, is less strenuous and the view becomes more impressive with each HM. As a descent over the 3 scree slopes into the Kar is not so nice, but more strenuous. The large ibex population is always worth the effort to climb the Gößeck.
