The village linden tree from Högling is possibly the oldest tree in the Rosenheim district. Its trunk is nine meters in circumference and is hollow inside and open like a chimney. The wood inside is very rotten. However, the outer bark and foliage are healthy. During the Middle Ages, courts were held under the linden tree. Two linden trees were planted next to the ancient tree in 1906, the boy's linden tree and the king's linden tree. Linden trees were a symbol of fertility for the Germans and a tree of love for poets from time immemorial.
