"The "Rugenbarg" belongs to a group of large burial mounds from the older Bronze Age (approx. 1450-1250 BC). Tree coffins in boulders are characteristic, in special cases stone boxes were built.
The stone box in the Rugenbarg was excavated in 1884 with the help of local villagers. In the approximately 3x1 m large stone box were in the z. T. preserved tree coffin male skeletal remains.
The dead man's equipment: sword with wooden scabbard, dagger, heel axe, two brooches, bronze fittings for a folding chair and clay pot indicate a high social status."
