A great area for cycling, with many paved country paths, but even on the country roads, there's not much traffic; plus the Allentsteig military training area, which stretches across several square kilometers, completely untouched by nature and can be crossed legally on two roads (Winkl-Allentsteig and Alltentsteig-Stausee-Ottenstein).
