The Porte de Nevers or Porte de Bas, from the 16th century, is a tall construction with a gabled brick facade; the sandstone and pebbles at the base are of older origin. Above the entrance you can see the two bays that allowed the passage of the chains to raise the drawbridge. Above this is a coat of arms with the coat of arms of the Duke of Gonzaga-Nevers, surmounted by the motto "fides", which was for a long time that of the city, in memory of the participation of the city militia in the battle of Bouvines (1214). The windows of the flat, in which the current parsonage is located, were the former guardhouse. Under the vault, traces of grooves indicate the passage of the portcullis.
