Located at the base of Homestake Peak in the San Isabel National Forest, Slide Lake is a treeline body of water. The trail reaching the lake passes the Tenth Mountain Division Ski Hut just before getting to the lake. Some adventurers use the lake or hut as a home base and scramble off-trail up to the top of Homestake (13,209 feet).
