In 1918, the 17th century church was completely destroyed. A war memorial now stands on the site of the ruins.
This "new" church was built a little further away to a design by Louis-Marie Cordonnier and Louis-Stanislas Cordonnier, and consecrated in 1932.
The brick basilica cruciform church has elements from the neo-Romanesque and neo-Byzantine styles, as well as features of the Art Deco style.
