In French: "La Chapelle Catholique de la Passion".
The name of the chapel refers to a crucifix that was saved from "sacrilegious revolutionaries" in 1793.
The original chapel - called the Ermite Chapel - dates from 1817, but nothing remains of it. Forty years later it was completely rebuilt and expanded another forty years later.
All the while, the nearby crucifix remained venerated. People came to place a garment of a sick person at the cross to ask for his healing. Because of this, the chapel was also called "Koortskapelle".
This custom continues to this day: on the bars of a kind of "crypt" in which a figure of Christ lies, you will find pieces of cloth, referring to garments of "sick people whose prayers were answered".
