The Kestrel is not only the name of the Reception Gate and tower that you will find here, but also of the most visible work that sculptor and woodcarver Ad Wouters made for the Reception Gate in 2018. You can already see him from the parking lot. To view it up close there is a small winding path on a hill. It is connected to the tower on the other side via a raised path. This elevated path separates the Naamsesteenweg and parking lot from the dog walking meadow and the area where you can walk and work more and also find play equipment. Since it is higher, the path is also the route to some smaller play equipment such as a slide. The kestrel is the mascot of the area and is quite common here. He also takes you as a guide into the tower and of course you will also learn a lot about the kestrel through the information boards and some nice installations, for example with sounds. By the way, the falcon (the statue) is looking at the tower.
