This stretch is certainly the most beautiful of the beautiful Torratte space: you leave the fields and enter a wood that flanks the Caomaggiore up to the Sbrojavacca Tower.

Too bad that the stretch that should accompany the river to the north is impassable and buried among brambles (who knows why...)

"The Caomaggiore or Cao Maggiore is an Italian river that flows between Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto.

It arises from resurgences southwest of San Giovanni di Casarsa della Delizia as Rio Ristacchio, assuming, after Torrate di Chions, the hydronym Roggia del Molino. It is called Caomaggiore only from Marignana di Sesto al Reghena, after the union with the waters of Roggia Selvata.

After a few kilometers characterized by a notable tortuosity, it enters the municipality of Cinto Caomaggiore, and finally reaches the Reghena between Cinto itself and Giai di Gruaro.

The hydronym is evidently a compound of the words cao (of water), a Venetian term meaning "canal" (from the Latin cavus), and major"
