Hiking

The hike begins in the Rettenbach Valley west of Solden. There is a small chapel right on the Rettenbach glacier. The marked path - also part of the E5 long-distance hiking trail - leads - depending on the snow conditions - either over old snow or over scree up to the Rettenbachjoch. The route then takes you downhill to the Braunschweiger Hut, which is located in the basin below the Fernerkogel, with great views.
