Near the village of Mořice between Vyškov and Kroměříž, a unique project, an artificial wetland, was created in 2004 on waterlogged fields.
The Mokroš Biocenter consists of several ponds surrounded by meadows, trees and bushes, which will eventually become a floodplain forest with typical flora and fauna. The retention tank is not only a hideout for wildlife, but also a pleasant environment where you can go for a walk in nature. For visitors, a roof walkway was built here for easy movement, as well as a resting gazebo, which also serves as an observation deck. Those who would like to learn something new can look forward to the information panels.
The Biocenter is publicly accessible and you can almost reach it by car: after the last houses in the village in the direction of Němčice, you have to turn left into the fields, the introductory panel is right next to the road. The wetland is located at the end of the avenue of poplars and is only a few hundred meters away on foot, with a stroller or by bike. The nearest railway station is in Němčice, from where it is about 3.5 kilometers to Mokroš.
