St. Catherine's Hill is a chalk downland that is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its remarkable biodiversity.

A grassy bridleway runs along the foot of the hill that is also part of the King Alfred's Way, a long-distance bikepacking route. This eventually takes you over the M3 up to a golf course, which offers fantastic views over the city of Winchester.

Grassy path that looks level, but (coming from the motorway) it's actually downhill and you'll get up to quite a speed if the ground is dry... but then it becomes a minefield of rabbit holes... it's a trap!
