From an article in Het Nieuwsblad of 8 July 2014:
The reservoirs were built thirty years ago. 98 architectural elements of two meters wide and seven meters high were placed around the drinking water reservoirs, with one meter in between. The water height of the reservoirs is six meters.
These elements ensure that the water tubs are protected against the sun, in order to obtain an even heating, and against shocks. The wall of the unique reservoirs is quite thin (30 cm)."
