1587 upgrade to a manor
burned down in 1648
In 1720 a moated castle was rebuilt by Gottlob Christian Vitzthum von Eckstedt (12 chimneys, 52 rooms and 365 windows). He was court marshal of the Saxon Elector Augustus the Strong, who also spent several weeks at Jahmen Castle.
Unfortunately, the castle was badly damaged by bombs in 1945 and completely demolished in 1947.
The two barns at the gate entrance, which are in dire need of renovation today, were built by the von Metzradt family around 1767.
