The "Long Christian", as the black and white lighthouse is called, was put into operation in 1856. It is one of 2 lighthouses in Kampen.
The black ring of the tower is special. Instead of the usual red ring color, the ring was made black in memory of a farm worker. This construction worker had an accident while building the tower and died as a result.
The lighthouse can (unfortunately) only be viewed from the outside.
