Hastings Pier was built in 1872 and has enjoyed many iterations since then, from its prime in the 1930s to becoming a popular music venue in the 1960s. The pier also burnt down or was damaged by storms multiple times, so it has been rebuilt many times. The Pier was last restored in 2016, the result winning the Stirling Prize for architecture in 2017.
